What we do
Three kinds of work, each grounded in the published record of courts and tribunals in the UK.
Court and tribunal data analysis
We analyse published court and tribunal material to show how parts of the justice system work in practice: how long matters take, how they are resolved, and how that changes by place, by type of case and over time.
Every finding is traced back to the record it came from, with its limits stated alongside it.
Questions it answers
- How long are cases of this kind taking to reach a hearing, and does that differ by region?
- What changed after a new rule, practice direction or procedure came in?
- How has the volume of this kind of matter moved over the past few years?
Legal research datasets
We prepare structured, documented datasets drawn from primary legal sources, ready for research, analysis or your own internal tools.
Each one comes with a plain account of where it came from, what it covers and what it does not.
Questions it answers
- We need consistent, well-documented data on an area of law for a research project. Where do we start?
- Can we bring this data into our own analysis without rebuilding it from scratch?
Bespoke reporting
We take on analysis commissioned around a specific question, delivered as a written report, a data extract or a briefing, whichever suits how the answer will be used.
We agree the question, the sources and the format with you before the work starts.
Questions it answers
- What does the published record show about this type of case over the last five years?
- We need an evidence base for a consultation response, a policy proposal or a business case.
