Modern slavery statement
Last updated
This is a voluntary statement. Assize Data Ltd is below the turnover threshold at which the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires one, but we think every business should say how it addresses the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking. It covers Assize Data Ltd and all of its trading names.
Our business
Assize Data Ltd is a small UK company providing data analysis, publishing and related services for the legal sector. We work remotely, and everyone we employ works in the UK.
Our supply chain
We mainly buy software, cloud services and professional services, from established providers, most of which publish their own modern slavery statements. As we publish printed books, we will also buy printing, and we will ask printers about how they protect workers before we use them.
Our policies
- We employ people directly, on written contracts, paid through PAYE and at least the legal minimum wage.
- We check every new employee’s right to work in the UK.
- We never charge anyone a fee to work for us.
- We will not knowingly work with any supplier that uses forced, bonded or child labour, or that trafficks people.
Risk and due diligence
Because we employ people directly in the UK and buy mostly digital and professional services, we consider the risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chain to be low. We review it when we take on a new kind of supplier, and before we enter any new market.
Training
Everyone who works for us is told how to recognise the signs of modern slavery and how to report a concern.
Reporting a concern
If you have a concern about modern slavery in our business or supply chain, tell us through our contact page or at enquiries@assizedata.co.uk. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. You can also call the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700.
Approval
This statement was approved by the director of Assize Data Ltd on 9 October 2026. We will review it every year.
