Assize Data Ltd is an independent company providing data analysis for the UK legal sector. We work from primary sources, take care over accuracy, and build data protection into everything we do.
Why “Assize”
The assizes were the travelling courts of England and Wales. For centuries, until the Crown Court replaced them in 1972, judges left Westminster to ride on circuit, hearing cases in county towns across the country. Each circuit followed a route, and each sitting left a record.
We took the name for that idea: go to where the record is made, follow it carefully, and bring back an accurate account.
