What Assize News is
Assize News is our publisher of reporting on the UK’s courts, tribunals and legal sector. It works from the same principles as the rest of Assize Data: primary sources, accuracy, and care with personal data.

How our publications work
Assize News works like a publishing house. Each publication has its own name and is written for its own readers, and each carries this line, so you can always see who is behind it:

Every publication also names Assize Data Ltd as its publisher, with our company details.
Our standards
- Accuracy and fairness. We check what we publish, and we keep reporting separate from comment.
- The law on court reporting. We follow it, including reporting restrictions, anonymity orders and the rules on contempt of court.
- Corrections. When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and openly.
- Complaints. If you have a complaint about something we have published, tell us and we will look into it.
Our full editorial standards, corrections policy and complaints procedure will be published with our first publication.

Assize News is an independent publisher. It is not a court, tribunal or government body, and it is not part of or endorsed by one.
