What Assize Careers is
Applying for a job in law often means guesswork: which employers do the work that interests you, where they are, and how they compare. Assize Careers uses data about the legal industry to replace some of that guesswork with evidence.
It is for anyone applying for a role in the legal sector, whether that is a training contract or qualifying work experience, pupillage, an apprenticeship, or a paralegal or support role.

How it helps applicants
- Find employers that fit. See which employers work in the areas of law that interest you, and where they are.
- Apply with evidence. Understand an employer’s work before you apply, so you can show why you want to work there.
- Know the routes in. Clear information about the different routes into a legal career and what each involves.
Our principles
- Built on primary sources. Our information comes from published data about the legal sector, and we say where it comes from and when it was last checked.
- Clearly labelled. If anything on Assize Careers is paid for, such as a sponsored listing, we label it clearly.
- Careful with personal data. We follow data protection law in everything we publish.

Assize Careers is independent. It is not a regulator, professional body, university or official careers service, and it is not part of or endorsed by one.
